Jackson hosts diverse operas from two different continents Saturday, April 21.

First, the Adhiambo School (3424 Robinson St.) presents "N'Ye'Re'Bia," a West African opera performance that includes music, drumming and dance. The story is about friendship, and the show celebrates African culture. The show starts at 5 p.m. in the school auditorium. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children. Call 601-922-1184.

Saturday is your final chance to see the Mississippi Opera this season, when it performs Donizetti's "The Elixir of Love." This slapstick satire centers on our unending search for love. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. at Thalia Mara Hall ( 255 E. Pascagoula St.). Tickets are $45 and up. Call 601-960-2300 or visit http://www.msopera.org.
