Grammy award-winning pianist George Winston performs in Jackson tonight.

When Grammy-award winning pianist George Winston returns to Jackson tonight, he'll be using his talent to combat juvenile delinquency.

Winston, who grew up in Montana and Jackson, performs tonight at circa. Urban Artisan Living in Fondren, and proceeds from the concert will help fund his nonprofit organization, The Winston Project Inc. The nonprofit offers intervention and prevention services to delinquent youth in the state.

The musician's talents also include playing the guitar and harmonica. He cites New Orleans pianist James Booker, Henry Butler, and Professor Longhair as his influences as well as Vince Guaraldi, The Doors, Frank Zappa and Sam Cooke. He released his latest CD, "Love Will Come: The Music of Vince Guaraldi, Vol. 2." last February.

Hear George Winston at circa. Urban Artisan Living (2771 Old Canton Road, 601-362-8484), tonight at 7:30 p.m., $75; or Saturday, Feb. 26, 7:30 p.m., with an after-party at 9:45 p.m., $100. Tickets available at Ticketmaster locations and circa.
