I don't think I'll ever forget the horrific photo of Emmett Till's open casket. His mother had insisted his funeral service show the brutal, inhumane face of racism and bigotry in the South, and the damage a group of white men had done to a 14-year-old boy from Chicago who supposedly whistled at a white woman. Smith Robertson Museum has taken this iconic case and the young man behind it to create a historic exhibit documenting the event.
