Deja Harris, a 2014 summer intern at the Jackson Free Press and an Alcorn State student, wrote this thank-you note after her internship ended. It refers to the soft skills she learned here as well as journalism practice. Writing handwritten thank-you notes is only one of the success-driven practices that young people need to embrace.
