JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Opening arguments are scheduled Tuesday in the trial of a woman charged with giving unlicensed buttocks injections that prosecutors say killed two women.

Attorneys Tuesday morning completed choosing jurors in Hinds County Circuit Court, where Tracey Lynn Garner faces charges of depraved heart murder in the 2012 death of Karima Gordon of Atlanta and 2010 death of Marilyn Hale of Selma, Alabama.

Authorities say Garner gave injections in her Jackson home. Gordon became ill hours after Garner performed the $1,500 procedure and died days later at a Georgia hospital.

Authorities initially identified Garner as a man, Morris Garner. Her attorney said Garner was born male and had sex reassignment surgery.

Natasha Stewart was convicted in January of manslaughter for referring Gordon to Garner. Stewart was sentenced to seven years in prison.
