RULEVILLE, Miss. (AP) — Jerry Lee "Duff" Dorrough, front man for the rhythm and blues group The Tangents and the Thacker Mountain Radio house band The Yalobushwackers, has died. He was 60.
Dorrough died Wednesday in Ruleville from complications of a liver transplant. Officials with Williams & Lord funeral home said Thursday that services are pending.
No list of survivors was immediately available.
A native of Memphis, Dorrough grew up in Ruleville, Miss.
Dorrough and other Delta musicians began as The Sausage & Biscuit Boys and morphed into The Tangents in 1981. The Tangents featured Duff with piano man "Fish" Michie and sax player Charlie "Charlie Love" Jacobs. Jacobs died in 1997.
In 2004, Dorrough joined pianist Jim Dickinson to form The Yalobushwackers.
Dorrough was also known for his oil and pastel work.
