Miss. Courthouses Receive Bomb Threats

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Mississippi authorities are investigating bomb threats that were called into numerous county courthouses around the state.

The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency said threats were called in Wednesday to 29 of the state's 82 counties.

Mississippi's homeland security office and the FBI are investigating. Homeland Security Director Jay Ledbetter said the calls came in between 1:30 and 3 p.m. He said no bombs had been found as of Wednesday night and he expected all of the courthouses to be open Thursday morning.

Anyone with information on the threats was asked to call the homeland security office's Fusion Center at 601-933-7200 or the FBI in Jackson at 601-948-5000.
