Cellphones "Possibly Carcinogenic"

AP is reporting that the International Agency for Research on Cancer has classifieds cellphones as "possibly carcinogenic," a label that it also applies to DDT and coffee. The Agency is an off-shoot of the World Health Organization. According to the story:

After a week-long meeting, the expert panel said there was limited evidence cellphone use was linked to two types of brain tumors and inadequate evidence to draw conclusions for other cancers.

The dangers are assumed to be minimal and the studies aren't without controversy. People concerned about their exposure are encouraged to use headsets if they talk on cellphones extensively.

One other note about fatality and cellphones is worth mention -- the risk of cancer is far outweighed by other cellphone behaviors:

Brawley said people should focus on the real health hazards of cellphones. "Cellphones may cause brain tumors but they kill far more people through automobile accidents," he said.

I've been scared or suspicious of cell phones for years and have suspected they contributed to the death of many outstanding individuals including Johnnie Cochran. I don't used them too much for talking. I use them for the internet when out of town on business. I rarely text. I pray for the day when cell phone users/abusers run into trees and bridges instead of other innocent people.

Walt, why not just admit they don't permit cell phone usage at Whitfield?

I saw Johnny Cochran's physician on one of the morning shows. Sorry, can't remember which one; however, there was another woman on the show whose husband started using a cell phone, frequently X 20 yrs. He died from a brain tumor, now believed to be secondary to his cell phone use. Cochran's tumor was located in the same general area that he habitually held his cell phone, according to his surgeon. This is something to pay attention to. It is with some logic that x-ray techs wear padded aprons to guard against constant exposure.

Todd please stop hating on my flow. Jealousy is so unbecoming of you! You too can flow like me with the proper training, education, apprenticeship, patience, prayer, supplication, and delayed gratification. Until then don't hate the player, hate the game. I do know you graduated from T A&M University at College Station! Who's fooling who? LOL. Go Steelers. You're still my dog, though! Don't hesitate to use your cell phone plentifully. They're not harmful in any way. Those people are lying. Good luck.
