Monday's Starting Five, Er, Six: Are You Ready For Tiger Fest?


JSU will hold the Blue-White Game on Aug. 25 at Newell Field.

JSU plans Tiger Fest … .It's Trophy Night ... USM gets wet in Madison … Detroit Final Four set.

Jackson State: JSU to hold its first Tiger Fest on April 24-25. The scheduled events include the spring football game, a baseball series with Mississippi Valley State and the naming of the baseball stadium for athletic director and former Tigers baseball coach Bob Braddy.

College basketball: They're going to hand out the Howell and Gillom trophies tonight. Doctor S predicts a Mississippi State sweep.

College football: Southern Miss held its first scrimmage of spring practice. Approximately 1,000 fans turned out at Madison Central High, but the weather didn't cooperate.

College football: Ole Miss and Mississippi State also held spring drills. The Rebels are building. The Bulldogs are rebuilding.

College baseball: Southern Miss had a great weekend, sweeping UCF. Mississippi State and Ole Miss didn't fare as well.

Men's college basketball: The NCAA Final Four is set. Will Michigan State make itself at home in Motown?
