The post office downtown on South Street stays open till 9 p.m. on weeknights and offers Saturday services, too.

Choctaw Books (926 North St.; 601-352-7281) is Jackson's answer to The Strand: Find thousands of used and rare books. For cheap finds, try one of the aforementioned thrift stores.
