The New Orleans' Voodoo Music Festival has been downsized and split between New Orleans on Saturday, Oct. 29, and Memphis on Sunday, Oct. 30. Because of the downsized New Orleans location site at Riverview Park, behind the Audubon Zoo, only people who purchased tickets prior to Oct. 12 will be allowed to attend. Ticket holders should get their updated tickets from voodoomusicfest.com. This good change so keep watching online for updates. Tickets are readily available to the public for the lackluster Memphis lineup.
You wont have to leave town to have high times on Halloween week. Mofro returns to Hal & Mal's on Thursday, Oct. 27. The legendary Bo Diddley will perform at Mardi Gras Restaurant for the Tougaloo Masquerade Gala Benefit on Friday, Oct. 28, $50, $75 VIP seating, Be-Bop or door. 601-206-4076. The Red Beans and Rice Festival on Saturday, Oct. 29 has a nice line up cooking at One Jackson Place with Colour Revolt, Jonezetta and The Vamps. Later that night will be the internationally renowned indie band Portastatic at W.C. Don's on Saturday, Oct. 29.
