The Clarion-Ledger reports:
The gray steel boxes workers hustled along basement hallways in the Hinds County Courthouse on Monday evening meant one thing — it's election time.
There are hotly contested primaries throughout the state today, including mayoral races in Jackson, Vicksburg, Tupelo, Meridian, Starkville and Gulfport.
Voters also will be at the polls in Canton, despite a request for a postponement. A judge on Monday refused to block the elections.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
