Jackson Area Invited to First of Five Nationwide Broadcasts on Health Issues

Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society invites the Jackson area public to participate in the first in a series of five national live broadcasts on September 30, 2004, at 7:00 pm. The broadcast will be held at the studios of the Mississippi Broadcasting Networks. The series continues on alternating weeks through the last of November.

Dr. Arnold S. Relman, Editor-in-Chief Emeritus of the New England Journal of Medicine and Professor Emeritus of Medicine and Social Medicine at Harvard Medical School is the first featured guest. He will discuss “America’s Health Care System: How Good is it and How is it Changing?” Dr. Relman’s discussion of the US health care system will provide a through overview of how the system works, who pays for it, what its major problems are, and what can be done to fix it.

Prior to the show, from 5:30-6:00, there will be a reception at the Phi Theta Kappa International Headquarters at 1625 Eastover Drive near the Mississippi Broadcasting Networks facilities off Ridgewood Road.
