Perhaps Dr. S should quit while he's ahead. Far, far ahead. It's true, Dr. S achieved perfection in his football picks over the weekend, going 4-0. If the good doctor was a Euro, he would quit now.
But Dr. S failed to achieve perfection in all things: He said the Angels would win the World Series by beating the evil Giants in six games. Instead, the Angels won in seven. So Dr. S will stay on the job. You're welcome.
Dr. S said Arkansas would beat Ole Miss 31-27. Dr. S overestimated the Elis: The Doobie Brothers won 48-28. Face it, UM can't win outside of Oxford. And two of UM's last four games are on the road.
Dr. S said Grambling would beat Jackson State 27-21. It was even uglier than that: the G-Men won 52-31. Even worse: Grambling coach Doug Williams beat up JSU offensive coordinator Darrell Asberry before the game. Asberry's boss, Robert Hughes, is on his way out: maybe as soon as this week.
Dr. S said Jones would beat Hinds 24-20. Jones beat Hinds 17-14. And he correctly predicted that Valley would lose to Texas Southern.
