West JXN Gumbo

JJ Townsend is giving local organizations and people a platform through Citizenville, a website that basically acts as a crowd-funding platform for community-based projects. On April 28, the organization held West JXN Gumbo at the Center for Social Entrepreneurship in west Jackson. At the event, guests paid $5 for gumbo, salad, bread and a chance to vote for their favorite community-based project that will benefit west Jackson. The Jackson State University W.E.B. Du Bois M.L.A. Harvey Honors College Debate Team was the winner at the event
