[Stiggers] Partly Cloudy, Definitely Funky

Grandma Pookie: "Welcome to the George Washington Carver Holistic Health Commission of Tuskegee, Ala., national report–brought to you by the Ghetto Science Team's Church Fan Energy Initiative.

"Chief Ghetto Scientist Dr. Peanut is here to discuss the term 'Blackberry Winter.' For the past two weeks, I've heard you say this term a lot. What does it mean?"

Dr. Peanut: "'Blackberry Winter' means very cool springtime weather."

Grandma Pookie: "Yeah, Dr. Peanut, this recent weather trend is unusual in America. What does weather like this indicates for the upcoming summer?"

Dr. Peanut: "It indicates that some funky (meaning unusual) things could happen."

Grandma Pookie: "OK. You mean things like tornadoes, floods, immigrants rushing the border before the National Guard troops come and old folk missing Medicaid deadlines?"

Dr. Peanut: "Yeah! And don't forget stir-crazy poor folk trapped in the ghetto like fish in a net because of high gasoline prices. Nowhere to run and no place to drive!"

Grandma Pookie: "Will hurricanes hit the United States this summer?"

Dr. Peanut: "Yep, that's right—hurricanes, floods, crazy political decisions, angry senior citizens, ongoing rape trials and other stuff."

Grandma Pookie: "Dr. Peanut's forecast for the summer: Pinch your nose tightly because this summer could be quite funky. Next report, filmmaker Kunta 'Rahsheed X' Toby and I will discuss his new movie 'Da Ghetto Code,' a very controversial documentary about suspected CIA and FBI agents eavesdropping on African Americans during the late '60s."

Yeah, I busted up when I read that in editing. "Da Ghetto Code" is the funniest thing I've seen in a long time. We are blessed to have Mr. Stiggers in our midst.
