Project Homeless Connect Week

The city of Jackson and http://partnerstoendhomelessness.webs.com/">Partners to End Homelessness host the Seventh Annual Project Homeless Connect Week to raise public awareness and assist the area’s homeless population. Individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness are invited to attend to receive basic provisions and services.

The outreach event began today, Sept. 17, and runs through Friday Sept. 20. Scheduled events for the rest of the week include:

Concert in the Park Wednesday, Sept.18, 2-4 p.m. Poindexter Park, 803 Deer Park St. This concert will bring spectators together to enjoy the eclectic sounds of local talent.

Homeless Conference Thursday, Sept. 19, 8:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Galloway United Methodist Church, 305 N. Congress St. The homeless conference will bring awareness to and discover solutions to prevent homelessness.

The Honors Tribute Gala & Fundraiser Friday, Sept. 20, 7 p.m. until Mississippi e-Center at Jackson State University, 1230 Raymond Road The gala will honor the donors and sponsors who have provided support to the annual homeless week project through the years. The event will also feature a fundraiser to help continue the fight against homelessness.
