CBS Cuts Away from Saints-Jax Game?!?

WTF? All the sudden I'm watching the Cincinnati - Buffalo game right after Jacksonville marched down the field to score. And now we're watching Chad Johnson get hurt and pulled from the field in an ambulance -- let's hope and pray he's alright.

But what's the logic of having us on this game while our home team continues to play? If WJTV has any pull with the CBS network, they need to let them know that it's not cool to pull away from a Saints game in Mississippi.

Update: I can't get anybody on the line at WJTV to explain what the hell happened. This is so CBS. I thought it was sweeps or something; they cut away from the Saints as if viewers in the South don't matter!?! Corporate media at its finest, folks. They get rich off negative campaign ads, but they can't let let local viewers enjoy watching an entire game -- probably ending in a very sweet victory!?!

Maybe I never noticed before with the Saints, but usually the networks will cut away if the game is out of reach at a certain point. Didn't WJTV do this during the MSU-Kentucky game a couple of weeks ago?

A much more important game--the Colts and Patriots--are on now. A Colts win will give me a great birthday gift.

I agree....they should never cut away from a Saints game in Mississippi...this was a good game...

But the Colts game was not on yet when they cut away. And it didn't seem out of reach when they left it—especially for all of us long-time Saints fans who have seen them lose many games in the fourth quarter over the years.

And under the circumstances ... I can't even imagine how it would feel to be in New Orleans and not be able to see the end of the game. After everything that city has been through, it can't even watch all the end-of-game accolades for Brees. It was a terrible decision on CBS' part, and there is no excuse for it considering what they cut away to and when.

So your first mention of the Saints on the front of jfp.com this season is reviling a television broadcast for cutting away from a game we were winning handily? Look in the mirror there friends, and consider how fair-weather you've played it insofar.

Okay so I wasn't going crazy the other day!! I was wondering why I was watching the Saints one minute, and then two teams that I don't give a rat's ass about were playing, and I could only keep up with the score of the Saints game on the bottom of the screen! I figured maybe it was because they were beating the pants off Jacksonville and so it was already "game over" for them, but I would have liked to see the rest of the game!! BOO to CBS.

Looks like Johnson is OK with no serious neck damage, which is great news considering he was immobilized and carted off the field yesterday. Reportedly he never lost consciousness and always had movement in his extremities.

I'm looking at the Saints' remaining schedule and just about every game left is winnable. The only way I see the Saints making the playoffs, however, is by winning the division and that's going to be a little bit tough.

Nov 11 vs. ST. LOUIS RAMS 12:00PM (Fox)
Nov 18 @ HOUSTON TEXANS 12:00PM (Fox)
Nov 25 @ CAROLINA PANTHERS 12:00PM (Fox)
Dec 02 vs. TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS 12:00PM (Fox)
Dec 10 @ ATLANTA FALCONS 7:30PM (ESPN)
Dec 16 vs. ARIZONA CARDINALS 12:00PM (Fox)
Dec 23 vs. PHILADELPHIA EAGLES 12:00PM (Fox)
Dec 30 @ CHICAGO BEARS 12:00PM (Fox)

Yeah, we'll need some help from our division-mates there. TB's remaining schedule isn't too hard either, unfortunately.

BTW, http://www.playoffstatus.com/nfl/saintsstandings.html is an excellent resource for tracking post-season possibility scenarios.
