Before the sun goes down today, check out the Mississippi Watercolor Society exhibit at The Cedars, which is open until 4 p.m., or the Mustard Seed art exhibit at the Mississippi Arts Commission, open until 5 p.m. today. The "Six Over 64.9" exhibit at Gallery 119 closes Monday, so you may want to stop by and view the artwork there while you have a chance. Call the gallery to make an appointment. Visit the JFP Gallery Listings or the Exhibits and Openings page for more options.

Start off your Saturday morning with a little exercise by participating in the 3.1 for 3x1 5K run/walk in Fondren. Check-in starts at 6:45 a.m. at Woodland Hills Baptist Church. Proceeds benefit The Journey's nonprofit organization 3x1, and registration is $25 for the 5K run/walk and $15 for the half-mile kids run.

Are you an artist or performer? Sign up to participate in the open house at North Midtown Arts Center from noon-7 p.m. E-mail .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) for details. How about a birthday party? Local rapper Noo Noo is turning 10, and she wants fans of all ages to join her at her celebrity birthday bash at Mardi Gras this Saturday from 3-6 p.m. Come for food, giveaways and live performances by Ray Nitti, J Money and Tha Joker. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. At 7 p.m., add some excitement to your evening by watching the Magnolia Roller Vixens take on the Pearl River Roller Derby at the Nuclear Knockout Roller Derby at the Jackson Convention Complex. Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door and $5 for children. Visit JFP's Best Bets page for more exciting events.

If you'd rather let someone else do the cooking this weekend, reserve your spot at BRAVO! for their Chill and Grill this Sunday at 4 p.m. For $52, you can enjoy six wine and food pairings from sommelier Kelly Boutwell and Chef Ferdinand Frechette. For more ways to avoid smoke and charcoal flare-ups, check out the JFP Restaurant Listings and the Menu Guide.
If it's music you crave, Shucker's Cajun Fest from noon to midnight with music by Andrew Pates and Friends, Krackerjacks and Snazz. Admission is $10. Go to the JFP Music Listings for more entertainment choices. As always, the best place to start your search for something cool do this weekend is JFP Events Calendar.
Is something missing? To make sure your event is listed on the JFP calendars, send the information to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address), or add your event yourself. It's easy!
