October 21, 2009

Thursday, Oct. 22
Junior college football, Copiah-Lincoln at Hinds (6:30 p.m., Raymond): The Eagles' sad season finally ends.

Friday, Oct. 23
High school football, Lanier at Provine (7 p.m., Hughes Field, Jackson): The South Jackson rivals will rumble in the shadow of Westland Plaza.

Saturday, Oct. 24
College football, Arkansas at Ole Miss (11:30 a.m., Oxford, Ch. 12, 97.3 FM): Houston Nutt's former team faces his new one. … Jackson State at Mississippi Valley State (1 p.m., Itta Bena, 95.5 FM): The Tigers are awful. The Delta Devils are godawful. Watch this at your own risk. … Florida at Mississippi State (6:30 p.m., Starkville, ESPN, 105.9 FM): Dan Mullen's former team, the top-ranked Gators, faces his new one, the Bulldogs.

Sunday, Oct. 25
NFL football, New Orleans at Miami (3:15 p.m., Ch. 40, 620 AM): The unbeaten Saints face the dangerous Dolphins. Watch out for the Wildcat, fellas.

Monday, Oct. 26
NFL football, Philadelphia at Washington (7:30 p.m., ESPN, 930 AM): Dog-killer Michael Vick and the Eagles invade FedEx field. The Redskins' starting quarterback and head coach are subject to change.

Tuesday, Oct. 27
NBA basketball, Boston at Cleveland (6:30 p.m., TNT): The Celtics tip off the season against King James and his court, which now includes Shaq. Can you dig it?

Wednesday, Oct. 28
Major League baseball, World Series Game 1 (6:30 p.m., Ch. 40): The New York Yankees or Los Angeles Angels will host the Philadelphia Phillies or the Los Angeles Dodgers in the opening game of the late October classic. Do you think this will be over by Thanksgiving?

(Continued from last week) … aren't talking to Doctor S.

Dr. S., Surely it was a mistake that you omitted another faceoff on Saturday Oct 24: USM vs. Tulane, at USM, Homecoming. Important conference game to both teams.
