High school football, Ridgeland at Callaway (7 p.m., Newell Field, Jackson): The surging Chargers face their toughest test yet in the Region 2-5A contest.

Saturday, Oct. 17
College football, Hardin-Simmons at Mississippi College (1 p.m., Clinton): The Choctaws seek a rare victory against the kings of the ASC. … Rhodes at Millsaps (1 p.m., Jackon): The Majors try to get back on track against the Lynx, the team they love to hate. … UAB at Ole Miss (6 p.m., Oxford, Fox Sports South, 97.3 FM): Can former big-man-on-campus Jevan Snead and the Rebels pick up the pieces? Meanwhile, ask Southern Miss what happens if you sleep on UAB.

Sunday, Oct. 18
NFL football, New York Giants at New Orleans (noon, Ch. 40, 101.7 FM, 620 AM): Eli and the Giants face Drew and the Saints a showdown between the NFC's best teams.

College football, Tulsa at UTEP (7 p.m., ESPN): The Golden Hurricane tangles with the Miners in a C-USA battle at the Sun Bowl.
