How young is too young for a “senior moment”?

Just now, I tried to stick my dry erase marker in the pencil sharpener. Yesterday, I went to get a partial refund on an item I had a coupon for, and I drove to the wrong store. I'm in my mid-30s, so I'm starting to wonder what's going on with this gray matter of mine. Maybe I have too much on my mind, or maybe I should focus on my organization skills. I don't know - all I know is that this is getting ridiculous. Got any tips for me out there? Also, share your stories of things you've done that made you question how "sharp" you really are.

I did it again. The other day, I left my cellphone at work even though I remember picking it up before I left. Yesterday, it was my turn to take out the office recycling. I forgot about it, and I drove home with it in the trunk, so I'll have to take it to Rainbow next week. Since both incidents occurred at the end of the workday, I've concluded that exhaustion is the culprit. Now for a solution...

LW there is a thing called early senility. Most of the people who knew me early on said I suffered from it at quite an early age. Todd notices my condition all the time and comments on it. I know he's jealous and should not count. Let me take out the mystery for you, you don't have too much on your mind, instead you have lost your mind. Do not worry the condition isn't as uncommon as many people think. Might I suggest you use it to get a check, to tell off people you do not like, to scare off people you do not want to be bothered with, to cuss out some of your enemies, and other good things such as this. Good luck and remember you are no longer responsible for
the things you do. God bless and welcome to old age coming early.

Instead of asking if you could be having a "SENIOR MOMENT", why don't we call it a "JUNIOR MOMENT". lol!

On a more serious note, most people, regardless of age, experience acts of forgetting. To worry about it and by repeating what you forgot, over and over, only reinforces it and the thought of forgetting could become a compulsion. "I won't forget, I won't forget."

One simple tip is to make a to-do-list. Make sure that your list is not overwhelming (possible of being done without killing yourself). Then, do a little self-inventory to make sure that you are not experiencing ? job burnout or if there are other areas of stress in your life that need settling.

By the way Latasha, Did I turn that iron off?

@Walt, if I follow any of the advice you give me and the cops come after me, remember that I know your real name. :-)

@justjess, thanks for the tips. (I hope the iron is off!) I'm positive that it's stress, though. I haven't been consistent before when it comes to list keeping, but I'll give it another shot.

BTW, my younger sister ran to the store to get some ice, and after she got home, she realized that her wallet was missing. After desperately searching for it, she fond it in the freezer - next to the ice. I guess it runs in the family. LOL
