The Mississippi Democratic Party has launched a voter hotline for citizens who experience any problems at the polls today. The number is 1-800-311-VOTE.
"Voting is a right, not a privilege," Rickey Cole, executive director of the Mississippi Democratic Party said in a statement. "Every voter in Mississippi has the right to vote tomorrow for the candidates of his or her choice. Every voter deserves the opportunity to vote without confusion, hassle, or intimidation. The Democratic Party insists that every vote be cast and counted fairly, honestly, properly and in keeping with the letter and the spirit of the law. This toll-free number is available to any voter, regardless of party, who experiences any problem in casting his or her vote. We are fully committed to uphold the integrity of the elections process, to defend the right of every voter to cast his or her vote without hindrance, and to insist that every vote is counted properly."
