Ida's Changes Location
Ida's, a restaurant serving up soul food and blue-plate specials, recently changed locations but will continue serve to South Jackson. Owner James Reed said the business recently moved from 4501 Raymond Road to 4580 N. Siwell Road in an effort to expand business opportunities.

"We have been in Business for three years and wanted to move to a larger location and create more visibility," Raymond said.

The $7 blue-plate lunch changes on a daily basis but always include a choice of meat, cornbread and sides. Ida's also specializes in barbecue plates and desserts. The restaurant is open Tuesday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Tulip Floral Studio
Chicago native Lesley Frascogna opened Tulip Floral Studio in the renovated Fondren Duling School this past June. The studio is now offering floral arrangement classes and will host an open house on Oct. 8, at 6 p.m. located at 622 Duling Ave., Suite 213, and serving Champagne, hors d'oeurvres and dessert.

The studio caters to special events and is open by appointment only. Tulip offers classes on floral arrangements based on public interest. For information on classes and the studio visit the Tulip Design Studio Web site or call 601-572-1777.
