The United States lost a slow-moving, rainy match against Germany, where the Germans appeared to dominate time of possession and hold the U.S. to very few scoring opportunities.
Despite the loss, the Portugal win over Ghana by a single goal, 2-1, kept the United States is second place in Group G, meaning the U.S. and Germany will advance.
