Former Jackson Ward 1 City Councilman Quentin Whitwell will run for the seat left vacant by the recent death of U.S. Rep. Alan Nunnelee.

As a native of Southaven and current Oxford resident, I am ready to run a strong campaign. My business background and legal training distinguishes my candidacy from the field. Whitwell http://www.jacksonfreepress.com/news/2014/oct/07/whitwell-exits-jackson-city-council-early/">left the Jackson City Council in October to move back to Oxford so that his son could be trained under tennis coaches at the University of Mississippi.
