With the looming storm, I might not recommend heading south for the weekend, but there are a couple of great shows worth mentioning. UPDATE Looks like the storm is weakening and possible not hit landfall until later Sunday. Maybe a road trip is in order?
New Orleans has the following:
10/5 - Bobby Womack brings Betty Wright, Clarence Carter & Deniece Williams to the Lakefront Arena for some R&B.
10/5 - Downtown Gretna hosts the Gretna Heritage Festival with lots of horns. Among the featured acts are Chicago, Treme Brass Band & Blood, Sweat & Tears.
10/6 - The party continues in Gretna with ZZ Top & Tab Benoit, among many others.
10/5 - House of Blues will bring you Jimmy Eat World with Matt Pond.
Of course, if being sensible is your thing, head to Memphis for The Lumineers at Mud Island Ampitheatre on 10/8.
If I were you, though, I might stay here and go to The Fair or one of our local shows.
