Well, I just received my first piece of journalism hate mail, and it is certainly one for the record books. Filled with personal attacks against my intelligence and appearance (among other things) and a condescending tone to boot, it alleges that I am "confused" and filled with "self-hatred."

On the advice of such a notable clinical psychologist as M. Jane Williams, I have re-examined the argument in my editor's note. And I don't take back a word.

What's crazy, and I do use that word intentionally, to me is that the psychotherapist (if that is her real name and real job; we haven't been able to locate her) never pointed out a specific thing in Kathleen's column that she disagreed with. No attempt at discussion or refutation; just a litany of personal insults. SMH.

This is plain stupid. If Kathleen wrote an opinion column, it's just that, HER OPINION! If this crazy lady did not agree with her, then she should be PhD educated enough to tell what it is that she does not agree with. I am disgusted by this letter. Where do these nut jobs come from???? UGHHHH!!!
The thing I love about the JFP, Donna never backs down. You always have your people's back, and I love that! Crazy people don't stand a chance against you all. Especially, people who encourage others to perpetuate hate and ugliness.
