This is the JFP TrollBlog. The dungeon. The time-out zone. The sandbox for the bad kids. Here you will find insults, lies, disruptions and other attempts at starting fights on the JFP site that were, well, just too good to delete altogether. Enjoy.
Here's the place to complain about the way we moderate the JFP site. Note that any and all complaints about moderation will be moved here without further comment. Also, be warned that this isn't really a place to lodge serious complaints about other posters and such. E-mail ladd at jacksonfreepress dotcom for that. Our moderation policy is pretty tried-and-true at this point, and works well, but those who must whine about it anyway on the site will end up here.
This thread is for those folks who show up simply to kick some "liberal" a**, therefore showing anyone who dares to participate in a respectful conversation on the JFP site, and "liberal" or not, just who in fact is the friggin' boss in these parts. And it ain't a damn liberal!

I will have to admit we left the Green Zone(Madison) and went into Bagdad on the Pearl this weekend. We were concerned that we might run into some insurgents who might ambush us and take our vehicle. We were not unfortunitely traveling in a armoured convey with automatic weapons so we were very nervous. We had to stop by Kroger on I-55 for supplies and luckly they did have 2 armed contactors at the front door in case of attack. We moved quickly through the city until we made it to another green zone(Flowood). Safe at last.

Donna is posting on the terribly indecorous Clarion-Ledger forum she holds in such contempt disguised as "AliWannaCracker." A small sample in response to my "ugh" at a particularly vulgar post she made:
"Thank God I consider all exclamations of disgust a sign of my impending triumph."
I respond: "Isn't this place just a breath of fresh air? I mean there's no question you'd be long gone over there in that little old lady tea party masquerading is a discussion group you hail from -- oh, of course you wouldn't be -- but you know what I mean. I can't quite believe you're not only rolling around in the mud with us over here but doing gynecological gymnastics to boot -- you who value "decorum" so very, very highly but hey -- welcome to the world of authentic debate -- where the editor isn't pitiful enough to punish people who disagree with her or worse, show her up for the narcissistic dope she is.

(Editor's note: This thread, started and named by MarilynMonroe, has been moved to the TrollBlog to show how NOT to start a thread on the JFP site. That is, accusing other conversants of whining will not win you friends here or make anyone want to talk to you.)

Why not do something?
It's pretty welll agreed that electing Melton was a mistake so instead of whining and complaining, why not call your lawyer and find out what can be done.
If he can be impeached, let's impeach him. If he can be recalled, let's recall him. If not, heck, let's figure out a way to run him out of town.
He's not gonna change. Unless you wantthree more years of this foolishness, find out what can be done.
This will be the new repository for the troll spewings at JFP editor Donna Ladd in specific.
We'll start with Brad. Brad was mightly distressed because Donna told a poster that we could not post photos on the JFP site that we do not hold the copyright to. Brad wrote with apparent venom On Oct. 14:
What a minute! You're going to raise hell because someone linked to a picture?
That is simply amazing. It's the internet. People post and link to pictures all the time.
I know you're on the look out for all the good people of Jackson but this is absurd.
Oh, silly me. I bet you're mad because Count doesn't address you as Countress.
These comments were moved from another thread where they were disrupting the conversation there:
In a few hundred years, the vast majority of Americans will have a little caramel or mocha color in their skin. That is not a wild guess; that is an inevitable statistical reality.
That is assuming (I think it is assuming, anyway) that "America" will exist (as we understand it, i.e. the U.S.A.) in a few hundred years, which is itself a questionable proposal. For example, MECHA's slogan:
"For the race everything. For those outside the race, nothing."
Here's the thread for those trolls who can't stay away—but just scream about how badly we suck when they're here. These are our personal favorites:
Obsessed troll alert #1: guy238: This is by far the funniest thing I have ever read on this website. Fact-based?.. Truth-filled?.. I doubt it. The Jackson Free Press is a sad excuse for alternative media. (If such a thing exists...) The Clarion-Ledger is superior to you guys in every way imaginable.
This string of ugliness started on our "Pray for the Big Easy" thread the day before Hurricane Katrina:
Brad: You have an unhealthly dislike of the CL. No one gives a damn about your opinion about the Cl except for the voices in your head.
_____
Tom Head: Brad, I actually do give a damn about Donna's opinions of the CL, and last I checked I'm not a voice in her head. Though you may be a voice in mine. I don't know. Do you have a shrill, clown voice?

We now have an official place to move troll comments to so they don't interrupt the flow of other blog discussions. "Trolling"—going on Web sites merely to start personal fights—is still against our user agreement, but rather than delete the mild and the entertaining ones that won't get us sued, we'll just move them here, so everyone can enjoy them all together. Just think of it as the "two minute hate blog." Hey, and if our members complain about it, we'll take it down. Tell us what you think. So far, we're closing comments on them so that the threads themselves don't turn into flames between trolls, but feel free to give us your feedback on it below or at: editor@jacksonfreepress.com.
The following comments popped up in the Batman story comments after former JFP blogger CentralMSDawg decided to made the demand of another blogger, and then start a fight about it. Ladd responded to Dawg and the following dust-up occurred. Everything after Ladd's response to Dawg has been moved here, and he has been suspended:
Quit putting the blame for the struggels of black men on other people.
Dawg, you're sounding awfully privileged when you order another man how to think. Grow up. Not everybody agrees with you, and they're not going to respect you when you go around ordering others how to think. Why not listen and learn something new? Or, are you so wise that you don't need to know how someone else lives?
Don't try my patience today. I jsut came out a five-hour interview, and am in no mood for rude B.S.more...
"College Drop Out" is so bright that he decided he would pre-troll Ben Allen's new blog. Head and Ladd made short order of this whippersnapper, though:
College Drop Out 01/06/06 11:34 PM
IP: 68.206.138.199
Why does a Jackson Councilman need a blog. Does Ben need more work to do! Hey, look at the crime, the bad streets, and high taxes. I can see why people are moving out of Jackson. The Councilman is not doing his job, and he only playing on a website.
ladd 01/06/06 11:44 PM
Yeah, whatever, drop-out. We're not buying what you're selling. Lose the ugly 'tude, or move on out.
Tom Head 01/06/06 11:49 PM
[+] College, tell your sushi buddies that if they have anything to say to us, they should either have the gumption to post it here under their own names or go crying home to their mommies, where they might find a more receptive audience. I don't have the patience to deal with people who are so yellow that they have to work through anonymous accounts.
ladd 01/07/06 12:00 AM
[+] You tell 'em, Tom. If there is another resolution I should add to my list, it is to waste very little time on cowards and people who hate themselves (and, thus, others). I have really had my eyes opened about a handful of people in this town and the lengths they will go to hurt others, and it only makes me feel better about all the good people the JFP attracts.
Legitimate, respectful and fact-based discussion about the anti- vs. pro-war movement, and their reasons and arguments, is welcome on the JFP site, but outright cursing and bashing of families who have lost loved ones in the war is a clear violation of the rules. Here is a good example, moved from the "Jackson Power May Be Out for Weeks" thread tonight:
Sonny Day: "That b**** Cindy Sheehan has now blamed the Huricane on Bush. What a nutcase she turned out to be."
Tom Head: "The Jackson power situation kind of sucks. But on the plus side, the TrollBlog is doing better than ever!"
Sep 08, 07 | 12:28 pm Hate the Moderator? Here's Your Place. ladd: And there is clearly no need for this thread if this is what it attracts. We'll return to the rule: all comments about the site moderation/management must go to admin@jacksonfreepress.com
No exceptions going forward....
Sep 08, 07 | 12:27 pm Hate the Moderator? Here's Your Place. ladd: Oh, I didn't see that, lucdix. How juvenile can you get, A-Tee?!? And you're actually here whining about how we moderate the site and do that?
Lord. Go away, and grow up....
Sep 08, 07 | 11:58 am Hate the Moderator? Here's Your Place. lucdix: This statement alone, A-Tee,
"I sort of understand what you are saying now liksdix."
qualifies you for me as a 'troll' - since you're obviously here looking to insult people rather than discuss issues intelligently.
I don't participate in...

Thanks. ;-)...
Sep 08, 07 | 10:48 am Hate the Moderator? Here's Your Place. A-Tee_ate: Some kid made a knock on the JFP at MC last semester in their paper
then in the next paper all the kids were like "Are you crazy, the JFP is the best thing we got."
i could probably get you a copy if I asked around school
you could add it to your...
Sep 08, 07 | 10:45 am Hate the Moderator? Here's Your Place. ladd: ;-) Now that's my kind of free-enterprise thinking.
Actually, I have a folder full of troll droppings—from here and other sites about us—that may find its way into print some day. It includes e-mails from various trolls as well, and is pretty...
Sep 08, 07 | 10:41 am Hate the Moderator? Here's Your Place. A-Tee_ate: You guys should publish a "trolling" book

I'd buy it....

Sep 08, 07 | 10:37 am Hate the Moderator? Here's Your Place. ladd: Just saw your last comment: Some of the trolls (especially one I can think of) had some interesting stuff to say. (Not all of them, mind you. Most are just strings of insults).
The problem is that some would not follow the rules, and would keep...
Sep 08, 07 | 10:34 am Hate the Moderator? Here's Your Place. golden eagle '97: So building on that logical extension:
Is it safe to say that when a JFP blogger goes against the grain or “trolls” (and I wished I was doing that right now) he/she is subject to the authority that owns, mediates and regulates the atmosphere...
Sep 08, 07 | 10:32 am Hate the Moderator? Here's Your Place. ladd: Actually, Kaze's situation is very different than the JFP suspending people for violating our User Agreement on the site. We have never suspended anyone here for comments made elsewhere, which is none of our business. Jim Giles even posted here for...
