JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Tate Reeves of Mississippi has been chosen vice chairman of the Republican Lieutenant Governors Association.

As such, Reeves try to help Republican candidates across the country during the 2014 election cycle.

Reeves served two terms as state treasurer before winning a four-year term as Mississippi lieutenant governor in 2011.

The chairman of the Republican Lieutenant Governors Association is Brian Krolicki of Nevada.

Thirty of 45 lieutenant governors are Republican. The association says Republicans hold 15 of the 19 independently-elected positions and 15 of the 26 team-elected or appointed seats.
