HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) — Soldiers from 158th Infantry Brigade and 177th Armored Brigade will return home Saturday after a nine-month deployment to Afghanistan.
A welcome home ceremony will be held at the Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center located on U.S. Highway 49 south of Hattiesburg. After the ceremony, the soldiers will join their families.
During the deployment, the soldiers advised and mentored Afghan Security Forces in security and planning operations.
The158th Infantry Brigade and the 177th Armored Brigade are the training brigades for mobilizing units at Camp Shelby.
