The AP and Johnny DuPree…

The Associated Press has already declared Democratic candidate Johnny DuPree the loser of tonight's gubernatorial race before the singers have gotten started good.
No word yet from DuPree campaign manager on when the Hattiesburg mayor will address the crowd at the Lake Terrace Convention Center.
As of 9:14 p.m., the AP reported Bryant leading 59 to 40 percent with 45 percent of the state's precincts reporting.
If DuPree loses tonight, it confirms polling released yesterday by North Carolina-based Public Policy Polling, which showed him trailing Lt. Gov. Phil Bryant by 14 points, 54 percent to 40. DuPree needing a last-minute sprint to make this a competitive race.
As expected, the poll showed the race polarized along racial lines with Bryant up 74-20 with whites, while DuPree has an 80-11 advantage with African Americans.
Now, back to the music. Vasti Jackson keeps playing to the crowd.

Ugh...how very depressing. I had hoped he might win somehow.
