The Mississippi Department of Archives and History collects, preserves, and provides access to the archival resources of the state of Mississippi. These resources include unique archival materials as well as published works concerning the history of Mississippi. Public access to the archival holdings is provided in the Reading Room. A researcher must present a valid photo identification in order to obtain a research card to gain access to the reading rooms.

Monday 9-5
Tuesday-Friday 8-5
Saturday 8-1 (Only a small Search Room staff is present on Saturdays; as a result, reference services may be limited.)

DIRECTIONS:

n Jackson, take Interstate 55 to the High Street Exit. Take High Street west, then turn left onto North Street. The parking lot is on the left just before the Winter Building. The Reading Rooms are on the first floor.

Students entering grades 7-9 learn about setting up and promoting a museum exhibit. Hours are 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. daily. Pre-registration required.
