Hear from Mississippi’s best and learn some tips of the trade during the Gospel Music Workshop on Friday, June 1, 2012 at St. Luther M.B. Church, located at 1040 Banks Street off the Parkway by Jackson State University. Registration starts at 6 p.m. The workshop is part of the Gospel Artist Showcase weekend. Talent who participate in the showcase may have a chance to perform during the Jackson Music Awards on July 29th. Featured instructors include David Curry Jr. of the Mississippi Mass Choir, Stevie Jordan of St. Luther M.B. Church, Cynthia Goodloe Palmer of Canton Gospel Music Association, Daniel Powell from St. Paul AME Zio Church, Chandra Wise of New Jerusalem Church, plus moderator Minister Ben Cone III and special guest Pastor Melvin Jones, former radio personality and record promoter out of Memphis, TN. Registration is $10 per person or $100 for your entire music department musicians or choir. Checks or money orders should be made payable to Nighthawk Productions, 5660 Spencer Dr. Jackson MS 39212.
