RSS for Dance- Introduction to Ballroom Dancing

- This four week course at Dance Connection Ballroom Dance Center teaches the basics of seven of the most popular social dances: Waltz, Foxtrot, Rumba, Cha-Cha, Tango, and two styles of Swing (Triple Step and Single Step Swing). A map with directions to the studio will be mailed upon registration. Class participants required to wear shoes with leather soles (no tennis shoes, sandals or backless shoes). Singles and couples welcome. Class size limited. Dance instructors will be Mike and Lisa Day, who teach at Dance Connection, central Mississippi's largest and most popular social/ballroom dance studio. Sept. 22-Oct. 13, 7:00-8:00 p.m.; 4 wks.

- The Mississippi Improv Alliance in conjunction with Cynthia Newland of the Belhaven Dance Department and Duncan Dance/a modern dance company present an evening of dance-centered improvisation. A series of 3 directed dance-improvisations will focus on dissolution and the possibilities inherent within.
