"Civil War Tribute: The Artwork of J. Kim Sessums"

Vicksburg National Military Park will be showcasing an exhibit in the park Visitor Center in honor of Black History Month. The exhibit is entitled "Civil War Tribute: The Artwork of J. Kim Sessums." Dr. Sessums is the artist who sculpted the African American Monument in the park. The exhibit will include paintings and bronze works of United States Colored Troops. Veterans of the Mississippi Civil Rights Movement Conference

The theme of the four-day conference is "Empowering the Next Generation: Passing It On to Carry It On." Venues include Jackson State University (1400 John R. Lynch St.) and Tougaloo College (500 W. County Line Road, Tougaloo). Activities include panel discussions, a banquet, workshops, a civil rights tour and film screenings. Limited seating.

"Making Dreams Come True" Mini Comic Con
