W.C. Gorden, the winningest football coach in Jackson State history, has been named to the College Football Hall of Fame. The Tigers won eight SWAC titles during Gorden's 15 years as head coach. This year's hall class also includes former Mississippi Valley State coach Doug Porter.

Delta State claimed its 11th GSC title by defeating Montevallo, 7-5, Wednesday in the conference tournament at Millington, Tenn.
