Welcome to Wellness

Greetings gentlefolk, and welcome to my Wellness blog.

As my good friend Terry said to me over the holidays, "You can't make a difference when everyone agrees with you." Amen to that, sister. And what better place to make a difference than in the health and well-being of the people of Mississippi. As corny as that may sound, I may have found my purpose for being here. Let's ignore the fact that it only took 10 years (I'm a late bloomer, OK?) and a mid-life crisis that Jung would be proud of the get me to this place.

I believe that there's no such thing as an accident in the universe. You might believe differently, but you have to admit that the health of many Mississippians has a great big honkin' long way to go to get good. So, I'm going to be using this space to let you know what's going on in the world of "wellness."

Wellness, beyond the absence of disease, is balance: balance of body, mind and spirit. Disease is an interesting word, really… Dis-ease: the opposite of ease. Dis-ease exists everywhere: in the body, in the mind, and in the spirit. And it's not necessarily a personal conversation—dis-ease exists in the city, state, country and planet.

The purpose of this Wellness blog is to shine a light on what we can do to balance our lives, and to provide wellness information that you can use, as well as present controversial items that should be talked about. There will probably be some out-there "woo-woo" stuff, too. The kinds of entries I'll be making may well touch on any area of dis-ease, and hopefully, it will be an interesting journey for all of us.

I invite you to jump in with both feet.
Namaste
Ronni Mott
