Poll: Six Points Separate Obama and McCain in MS
Given the nearly 20 points that separated Bush and Kerry in the 2004 elections, the 6 point differential recorded by Rasmussen in its latest 2008 Presidential polling is remarkable. Sen. John McCain (R) leads Sen. Barack Obama (D) 50-44 in the June poll, which is unchanged from the May result. Obama leads with women and with the 18-29 age group; McCain leads among men and at varying levels in all other age groups.
In the Senate race, Senator Roger Wicker and former Governor Ronnie Musgrove are statistically tied within the margin of error, with the June poll showing Wicker at 48% and Musgrove at 47%. This reverses May's (also statistically tied) result of 47% for Musgrove and 46% for Wicker. Meanwhile, in the other Senate race, Incumbent Thad Cochran is polling 23 points higher than former state representative Erik Fleming.

COMMENTS
I'm estatic about the poll numbers nationwide for Obama, though I must caution that it's still June and those numbers can and will change between now and my birthday (which is Election Day this year!). What a great gift an Obama victory will be this year.
