McCain Tries to Bar Media From Palin at UN; CNN Rebels

The McCain campaign's efforts to keep Sarah Palin from embarrassing herself in front of the media is reaching ridiculous depths. Today, to their credit, CNN threatened to not show any footage of her effort to look presidential if the McCain camp followed through on restricting all reporters except for cameras. (She likes cameras.) Here is CNN's blog report on the mess.

All this, of course, is showing sheer contempt for the American people's right to determine whether McCain's choice of running mate is prepared to be president or vice president. We can assume "not" if she is scared to go in front of reporters. McCain should be ashamed for turning into this kind of candidate.

This is pitiful. Do they think they can keep her shrouded until election day? At the VP debate, are they going to have her wired up to the McCain policy wonks so they can feed her answers?

Earlier this year when it was clear that the race would be between Obama or Hillary vs McCain, I thought to myself, 'well, actually, I can live with either of them', given the eight hellish years under Bush. But I quickly saw McCain morph into a lying, scheming, out-of-touch, win-at-all-costs, speech-memorizing curmudgeon who has no shame or decency. His choice of Palin nails the lid on the coffin. The very thought of his winning <dreadful thought> and something happening to him leading us with President Palin totally disproves that he believes in 'country first'.

Sadly, all too many are victims of his fiendish foolery. God help us all.
