Isbister, Moyo, Others Kick Off ‘Freedom’ Events at Hal & Mal’s

Laurel Isbister will play Friday night as part of the local line up that kicks off the Mississippi NOW Reproductive Freedom Summer events going on in Jackson July 15-22. The opening party starts at 7 p.m. and goes to 10 p.m. in the big room in the back at Hal & Mal's. Laurel's set Friday starts at 8:30, and she'll be joined by percussionist Loye Ashton as well as spoken word diva Thabi Moyo. Thabi and Laurel have recently penned a new song together that they think you'll like.

Laurel will be back in the same location Saturday to celebrate again and this time she'll be joined by Scott Albert Johnson as well, on harp and vocals (http://www.scottalbertjohnson.com). Saturday Laurel goes on at 7:45 for a few minutes with Thabi Moyo, and then again at 9 pm with Loye Ashton and
Scott Albert Johnson.

I'm in favor of "choice" and "reproductive rights."

JFP & Hal & Mal's, thanks for supporting our event!!! Everything is going great!!!! I hope something makes it in the Press, that pro-choice activists were peacefully assembled in Smith Park on Saturday-(a huge success), prior to me making closing remarks, and 20 minutes after the arrival of the aniti's, a bomb threat was called in. Reminder: there were children, young people, elderly and family pets enjoying a peaceful rally............
