Ole Miss shocked much of the college football world by whipping Texas Tech 47-34 in the Cotton Bowl on Friday. The fact that Ole Miss won was slightly surprising. The way the Rebels dominated the Red Raiders was downright shocking.
The Dallas Morning News' Kevin Sherrington put it this way: In Round 1 of the SEC vs. the Big 12, now known nationally as the Flag Football League, Texas Tech did nothing against Ole Miss to dispel the national perception that Big 12 teams couldn't stop their mail, much less an ambulatory offense. ... If the Big 12's third-best team gets thumped, 47-34, by the SEC's fourth-best team, what chance does Oklahoma have against Florida?
Amen, brother.
