Calling all Chicks!

James Harwell

4th Annual Chickball (Flyer PDF—print and distribute!)

July 19, 2008
Hal and Mal's Red Room
6 p.m. - Midnight
$5 cover, $5 for a door prize

This year's proceeds will go toward the purchase of a new van for The Center for Violence Prevention. Sandy Middleton from the Center says, "Our van at The Center for Violence Prevention is a lifeline to those who fall victim to domestic violence. It is the mode of transportation to pick up women and their children in distress, as well as to provide transportation for job interviews, apartment searches, doctor’s appointments, legal appointments, etc. Our van literally never sits still and is beginning to suffer from age and wear and tear as it nears the 200,000 mile mark. Our goal is to purchase a newer more reliable van for our shelter, so we can continue to provide transportation services and not worry about break-downs or continued repair bills. We prefer a new or slightly-used fuel-efficient minivan with a minimum seating for seven."

Go to mscvp.org for more information.

J.T.: Wintrhop, your last sentence "I don't want a small and manageable God. I prefer one that I can't fully understand." bears out that we each have perceptions of God. And, when the ...

Izzy: I wouldn't be too sure your church doesn't preach hate if your liturgy is not gender-inclusive. Think about it - is God really a "He" or a "Father"? Those are some images or visions of ...
