Community Animal Rescue & Adoption, or CARA, is in deseprate need for dog food (or the funds to buy food) for the hundreds of pups in their shelter. CARA is the only no-kill shelter in the Jackson area, and one of only two in all of Mississippi.
"In addition to everyone's life at home, it seems current economic conditions are greatly affecting operations at the shelter. The donations of food we normally receive from stores and companies are greatly reduced, and we are in dire need of food for our dogs and puppies," CARA wrote in an e-mail.
"We appreciate your generosity and compassion for these deserving animals. Bring food or financial donations to the shelter or donate money online at http://www.carams.org."
