The record stage in Edinburg, by the way, was during the Easter flood of 1979 at 30.06. As of 3 p.m. today, it was up 20.44 feet in 24 hours to 21.74.

The Corps is predicting on this chart that by tomorrow, the Pearl will be at 28.20 in Jackson; flood stage is 28.

Note that the Jackson Pearl River gage is on the left bank at downstream side of bridge on U.S. Highway 80 at eastern city limits of Jackson, 0.4 miles downstream from Illinois Central and Gulf Railroad bridge.

Here's a Pearl River at Jackson information/hydrologic page through the National Weather Service:

The Pearl is expected to rise to about 32 feet by Friday over a flood stage of 28. For perspective, note that the Easter Flood of 1979 was about 15 feet over flood stage.

However, 32 feet would be nearing "moderate stage" flooding and brings dangers, which are listed on that page.

A great link for Pearl River Basin activity and levels, including city creeks, reservoirs, etc.
