2011 Chicks We Love Announced: Honor Them at Chick-A-BOOM Reception at JFP Chick Ball!

Every year, the Jackson Free Press honors a slate of fabulous Jackson-area women who are making a difference in our community and who are just plain lovable. Last year, the JFP and BOOM Jackson joined with the Center for Violence Prevention to start honoring them at the JFP Chick Ball every summer. The Chick-A-BOOM VIP reception at the Chick Ball gives these amazing women the spotlight they deserve and gives the people who love them, too, the opportunity to honor them while helping raise money to fight domestic abuse in and around Jackson (this year's proceeds help fund nearby rural programs and assistance).

We urge each of you to pay at least $50 to become a sponsor of the JFP Chick Ball and to honor these wonderful women at the Chick-A-BOOM reception. The reception is from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Brew Pub at Hal & Mal's and will include food, beer and wine for all who buy $50 sponsorships, as well name placement on all printed materials and two tickets to the regular Chick Ball in the other end of Hal & Mal's in the Red Room and big room. At 8 p.m., all the Chicks We Love will join the regular Chick Ball in the Red Room and will be recognized as soon as the live "Men of Character" auction ends.

We urge everyone who can to pay the $50 to honor these women at the Chick-A-BOOM reception at the JFP Chick Ball on July 9:

Michelle Austin
Donna Barksdale
Noel Didla
Mary Ann Galle'
Katrina Gibbs
JoAnne Hartley
Rachel Jarman
Elaina Jackson
Beth Kander
Jan Mattiace
Tonja Murphy
Karla Våzquez
April Watson
Enrika Williams
Rita Wray

Congratulations to the 2011 Chicks We Love! Remember to honor them at the Chick-A-BOOM reception, just become a Chick Ball sponsor for $50 or more! Drop check (made out to Center for Violence Prevention) at the JFP office (2727 Old Canton Road, upstairs) by July 8, or pay by cash, credit card or check the night of the event. Also, we will shortly add a link for paying in advance by credit card.

Once more, to summarize: A $50+ sponsorship gets you entry to the Chick-A-BOOM VIP reception from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Chick Ball on July 9. It also gets you two tickets to the Chick Ball in the other end of Hal & Mal's. Beer, wine and food at the reception are included in the sponsorship. We will list you on all materials at the event and afterward about the event! The entire amount goes to help stop domestic abuse, and you get a receipt for your taxes from the Center. Super, eh?

See you July 9!
