The Jackson Zoological Park began in 1919, and moved to its current location in 1921. The zoo currently houses over 100 different species and over 700 animals.

Hours of Operation: Open year round from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. Monday through Sunday.

Last ticket sold at 3:30 p.m.

Zoo is closed on December 25th.

**Zoo will close at 2:00 pm on December 24th.

Zoo may occasionally be closed due to severe weather.

Dream Night at the Zoo

The invitation-only event allows physically or mentally challenged children and their families to see the zoo at their own pace and engage in activities that are customized for them. Participants must be referred by an approved organization to get an invitation.

Summer Zoo Camp
Mon, Jun 4, 8:00 am.
Children ages 4-12 enjoy animals encounters, games, crafts, hikes and keeper chats at the one-week camps. Sessions are divided by age groups, and topics and times vary. Half-day sessions for ages 4-5. Registration required; space limited. Zoo members receive discounts.

$75 ages 4-5, $150 ages 6-12, $35 opt. lunch (ages 6-12 only).
Story Time Tuesday

A zookeeper reads an animal story, and the kids get to do a related craft project or have an animal encounter.

Wild About Reading Party

Critters and Crawlers

JPS Summer Reading Day
