Carnaval de Mardi Gras

The parade is at 4 p.m. in downtown Vicksburg. The festival is at 5 p.m. at the Southern Cultural Heritage Center (1302 Adams St., Vicksburg) at the corner of Cherry and Crawford streets, and includes a Cajun gumbo cook-off, music from Slaphappy, dancing and children's activities. Proceeds benefit the Vicksburg Foundation for Historic Preservation.
