Camp and Education Connection

Get the summer camp scoop at Parents & Kids Magazine’s Camp & Education Connection, presented by the Girl Scouts of Greater Mississippi, on Saturday, February 18, 2012, at the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science (2148 Riverside Drive, Jackson) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

With regular admission to the museum (Adults - $6, Senior Adults - $5, Kids ages 3-18 - $4, Kids under 3 - free), this camp fair is a “one-stop shop” offering families the chance to visit with representatives from dozens of camps, schools and organizations from across the region to discover which ones meet the needs of their children.

Camp options span from traditional overnight camps to day camps specializing in horseback riding, athletics, art, nature, dance, cooking, drama and more.

Organizations on hand will include Beth Israel Preschool, Ballet Magnificat! School of the Arts, Belhaven Sports Camps, Bizzy Bodies, Camp Bratton-Green, Camp of the Rising Son, Drama Kids of Greater Jackson, Girl Scouts of Greater Mississippi, Global Wildlife Center, High Hopes Farm, JSU Kids College, Lake Forest Ranch, Millsaps College Summer Enrichment, Mississippi Department of Archives and History, Metropolitan YMCAs of Mississippi, Mississippi Museum of Art, Mississippi Museum of Natural Science, Riverview Camp for Girls, Saints Summer Experience at St. Andrews Episcopal School, Strike Entertainment, The Jackson Zoo, The Kids Farm, Twin Lakes Camp & Conference Center, Viking Cooking School, and more.

All who attend can enjoy the museum’s kid-friendly exhibits after visiting the camp fair booths. Families receive goody bags, and all have opportunities to win door prizes throughout the event.
