Delta Leadership Lecture Series for Youth

Saturdays at noon, youth ages 13-25 participate in leadership training. Topics include education, business, health, creative writing and civic responsibility. Lunch included.

"Fuel the New Year" Wellness Program
Feb 2 – Jul 12.
The six-month program includes a weight-loss contest and monthly nutrition workshops to help improve eating habits. Workshops are Feb. 2, March 1, April 2, May 3, June 7 and July 12 at 7 p.m. The grand prize winner is announced at the July 12 workshop. The contest is free to participants who sign up for a 5K or marathon program. Contest optional; workshops available at $10 each.

"The Migration of the Negro, 1940-1941"
Mar 27 – Jun 4.
In Johnson Hall Gallery. See 60 reproductions of Jacob Lawrence's paintings through June 4. Hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays. The opening reception is March 27 from 4-6 p.m., and the panel discussion is March 29 from 3-4 p.m.

Mississippi Bar Intellectual Property Section Seminar

The topic is “From Music, Film and Television Arts to Sports: Hot Issues and Disputes in Entertainment.” Registration and breakfast at 8:15 a.m. Fee for attorneys includes six CLE credits and one ethics hour for the "Ethics and Professional Responsibility" seminar.

National Conference on Civil Rights

The theme is "Rise, Advocate, Educate and Cooperate: The Unfinished Business of the Civil Rights Movement." Speakers include Freedom Rider Fred Clark, U.S. Congressman Gregg Harper, Phyliss Anderson, tribal chief of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, and Philadelphia, Miss. Mayor James A. Young. Register by April 1 for a $50 discount.
